Wilson's fame travelled to the United States during 2014 when she was a guest as a character on Showtimes The Affair. She played Alison Lockhart, a young woman with a troubled past and becomes involved with Noah Solloway. Wilson received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series in Drama 2015, along with Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson. I loved that I get to play a character from different perspectives Wilson told British Vogue in 2015. Noah believes Alison to be this confident sexy character. But she sees herself differently, as someone who is shy and dowdy on the inside. The actress said "I consider that America is a moral nation and they're very judgemental. What happens on the show looks horrifying." Wilson left the show in 2018 after a lot of fans' dismay, though she wasn't clear on the particulars. I had been tempted to leave however she refused to let me talk about it. This is what Wilson said to CBS This Morning in August of this year. The Little Stranger More recently Wilson has been pursuing film work. In 2016, she starred in the film of horror I Am the Pretty Thing who lives in the house, and also played the mysterious PT Stella character in the 2017 sci-fi rom-com How to Talk to Girls at Parties. To complete her list of credits her upcoming film will feature an upcoming British film adaptation of The Little Stranger. This supernatural thriller is based off the book written by Sarah Waters. Wilson executive produces the movie.
